ESP STEF 7 V
Now I don’t own a gibson, but I have until recently always wanted one. The problem is that they are not priced for us mere mortals! And as many of you have already stated it’s not like they have come up with anything really innovative recently. They just seem to rehash the same designs or change the colors and call it new. Their BFG model was mentioned as having a kill switch and this is new for them, but not innovative. Buckethead has had one on his guitar (an all white gibson) for a while now and from the video I have seen it looks like he did it.
Now as for vibrato: Gibson has come out with a Flying V with a Floyd Rose. It is a Zakk Wylde signiture model. I don’t know how much it is, but his other bullseye models are $4,500 on musiciansfriend.
I think you can tell a lot about a guitar company by it’s innovation and willingness to listen to guitar players. Ibanez, ESP and Dean are in my humble opinion the companies that are listening.
